Presenting Customer #1

He took a while...but today he eventually arrived - Customer #1. And he's almost too good to be true. "Run", from the seminal rap group Run DMC, walked in today.
We're proud to report he took a good look around with several of his crew before picking out half a dozen of our signature t-shirts from the legendary Phunk Studio.
We're also pleased to report that the receipts/credit card payment system operated flawlessly. As did the inventory capture system we've put in.
And as Customer #1, he takes pride of place on our fave shopper wall. Plus, he also qualifies for a special limited edition catalogue we'll be putting out after the first 365 days in business. That is if we make it...
In the meantime, Customer #2 has just walked in.
So, thanks Run, come back soon. And don't forget to tell your friends. After all, word of mouth is the best kind of advertising you can't buy.

Getting Started Part Deux

As luck would have it, customer #1 has still to exist. But when he or she does, you'll find out about it fast.

The plan is this, since we sell distinctive objects of desire, we think there's room to celebrate the customers who have the good taste to select these particular items. Every customer, no matter what they buy, deserves their place in the business's history. Which is why every customer's picture and their purchase will be displayed...

A living record of good taste and exceptional spending power.

Look out for customer #1. We know he/she is out there. And just itching to come in...

Day #1 - Business Starts Now

Day #1 - Business Starts Now

SmallBusiness2dotzero is officially open for business!!! I've been dreaming about today for the last 15 years. And as I "officially" open the doors to the world, I know I am on the edge of something huge.

Getting here hasn't been easy. But luckily, the business plans have all been approved by the banks and partners. Employees #1 and #2 are on board. (That's me & Mrs. Me.)

Surprisingly we look as though we've been running the business for years. The "IT department" set up our Vostro systems today with a budget that's next to nothing. Two slick notebooks. A printer. No trialware - just the software I know we need. And due to the foresight of the CFO (you know who), we're on a 12 month payment holiday - which is great 'cos it gives us the chance to break even before we pay anything.

Dell say they believe in small business. And I have to say I believe them!!!

Hang on - customer #1 has just walked in. Excuse me while I go out and serve them.
Tomorrow I'll tell whether we are actually officially ahead in this business.
